SoloHill® Microcarrier Starter Kit
The starter kit comprises all six SoloHill® microcarrier types, both protein-coated and non-coated, each at 10-gram quantity. Every cell type has their unique requirement for cell attachment and growth; therefore, the optimal microcarrier type should be selected experimentally. The microcarrier starter kit offers an excellent low-cost solution to accelerate microcarrier evaluation, facilitating selection of the ideal microcarrier type for specific applications.

Choose your Microcarriers
- Collagen-coated microcarriers are fabricated from cross-linked polystyrene cores and are coated with Type 1 porcine collagen (gelatin) to promote attachment and growth of various anchorage-dependent cell types. Microcarrier lots are manufactured and qualified under an ISO9001 quality management system.
- Fast Attachment Collagen-Treated (FACT III) microcarriers are fabricated from cross-linked polystyrene cores, coated with Type 1 porcine collagen (gelatin) and positively charged to improve attachment kinetics and growth performance of adherent cell types. Microcarrier lots are manufactured and qualified under an ISO9001 quality management system.
- Hillex II microcarriers are fabricated from modified polystyrene cores and are charged with cationic amine surface modification to promote fast cell attachment. The non-protein coated surface of Hillex II microcarriers enables their use in protein-free and chemically defined cell culture applications. Microcarrier lots are manufactured and qualified under an ISO9001 quality management system.
- Plastic microcarriers are fabricated from cross-linked polystyrene cores which are similar in composition to traditional cell culture plasticware requiring minimum-to-no adaptation for anchorage-dependent cell types. Non-protein coated surfaces of Plastic microcarriers enable their use in protein-free and chemically defined cell culture applications. Microcarrier lots are manufactured and qualified under an ISO9001 quality management system.
- Plastic Plus microcarriers are fabricated from cross-linked polystyrene cores and are positively charged to improve attachment kinetics and growth performance of adherent cell types. Non-protein coated surfaces of Plastic Plus microcarriers enable their use in protein-free and chemically defined cell culture applications. Microcarrier lots are manufactured and qualified under an ISO9001 quality management system.
