Cellulose nitrate (CN) - or mixed cellulose ester (MCE) - membrane filters are composed of cellulose nitrate and a small content of cellulose acetate. Cellulose nitrate membrane filters are hydrophilic, have high flow rates thanks to their symmetrical structure and are compatible with aqueous solutions (pH 4 – 8), hydrocarbons and several other organic solvents.
