The software BioPAT® Xgas Vis is part of the BioPAT® Xgas System and is intended for use with the BioPAT® Xgas Sensor and the BioPAT® MFCS software. The delivery of the BioPAT® Xgas Vis software contains the following components:

  • CD-ROM, containing all necessary software items
  • User Manual for the BioPAT® Xgas Vis The software can be integrated in Biostat STR®, Biostat® B, Biostat® B-DCU, Biostat® Cplus and Biostat® D-DCU

The BioPAT® Xgas sensor can be directly connected by analog signals to the DCU system. Therefore, only a cable and two free analog input ports at the DCU systems need to be available.Alternatively, if there are no available analog input ports on the DCU system, then it is possible to connect the BioPAT® Xgas hardware using the BioPAT® Xgas Vis software interfacing to the MFCS SCADA software. Herein, the direct connection of the BioPAT® Xgas sensors to the MFCS software with all necessary hardware and software components is described. Regardless of whether the sensor data comes from the BioPAT® DCU or is transferred by OPC® to BioPAT® MFCS, it is handled in the same way. The BioPAT® Xgas Vis software functions as the OPC® server, sending data to the BioPAT® MFCS OPC® DA client for up to 12 sensors. Once the data is in BioPAT® MFCS, it can be used in conjunction with the data from the mass flow controllers and other Biostat® peripherals to calculate, plot and track the process metabolic and respiratory factors. These factors can be used to trigger actuators for automating gas-mixing strategies, adding feed or induction media to increase process yield and consistency.
